Murmuration Guide

« Murmuration » is a phenomenon that symbolizes unity.
A flight of birds filling the sky, executing a harmonious choreography
This synchronization is what we also wish for within the festival.
The strength of this event also lies in this incredible unity.
flecheGoodwill & respect
The festival Le Chant des Oiseaux is an experience to be enjoyed alone or with friends, discovering new musical worlds and unique sounds.
Beyond the music, since our very first events, we’ve always strived to make these moments feel like a comforting bubble, far from the hustle and bustle of daily life. That’s probably why you’ve heard about Le Chant des Oiseaux.
This festival comes to life in the heart of nature, somewhere on the Causse Noir’s plateau. Somewhere under a sky where the stars wink at you like never before. In short,
Le Chant des Oiseaux is abreak from our daily lives An event that connects us.
To achieve this goal, all our efforts would be in vain if we didn’t collectively ensure that kindness and respect are the guiding principles. There will be zero tolerance and no excuses for any discriminatory, racist, sexist, homophobic, or fat phobic behavior. The same applies to harassment. Persistent staring? Not okay. Inappropriate gestures? Not okay. If someone says no, it’s no. We are committed to ensure that everyone feels safe..
This commitment to kindness extends to the festival team as well. The event relies on a large group of volunteers, technicians, and sellers who are there to make everything run smoothly.
Be mindful of their well-beingand treat them with respect at all times.
The same respect is due to the artists, without exception and with the same rigor. By coming to Le Chant des Oiseaux, each artist is sharing their vision of music to create an experience for you. Respect their work, and save your long conversations for the chill spaces. On the dance floor, we express ourselves through dance and listen to the music being played.

Keep an eye on yourself & others
The excitement of these events can sometimes lead you or those around you into moments of excess and overindulgence. It's important to keep a sense of balance—not only for yourself but also by staying aware of what's happening around you.
If you notice someone feeling unwell, don't hesitate to offer them assistance or alert the event staff if the situation feels beyond your control.
The event will be safer and more enjoyable for everyone if behaviors like these become the norm
Nutrition and hydration
Remember to eat and, of course, stay hydrated regularly. Festivals can feel like a marathon, and taking care of yourself is key to enjoying the entire event. You'll have a much better time if you also take breaks to rest. Don't burn yourself out on the dance floor!
You are to preserve your ears
Extended exposure to loud music can pose irreversible risks to your hearing. To protect your ears, take regular breaks away from the dance floor and avoid standing too close to the sound system. We'll provide earplugs on-site to help you safeguard your hearing. Take care of yourself!
The use of drugs is prohibited
Whatever the substance, they come with significant risks, and it's important that everyone is mindful of this. We all share the responsibility for ensuring everyone's safety, no matter the circumstances. Take care of yourself.
flecheSustainability
Cigarettes
Obviously, don’t leave anything behind. We no longer have patience for those who pollute by carelessly throwing their cigarette butts on the ground. As a reminder, a cigarette butt takes two years to decompose in nature, which deserves our utmost care. For the past seven editions, we’ve distributed pocket ashtrays to help preserve the forest. Don’t hesitate to pick up butts if you see them, even if they’re not yours. Keeping the site clean is everyone’s responsibility!
Waste management, leave no trace
In keeping with our commitment to respecting the space we’re privileged to use, we invite you to sort your waste during and after the festival. If you no longer need certain items or products at the end of the festival, you can leave them in a proper area, where they’ll be donated to local organizations.
Waste deposit
As part of our ecological approach, we’ve implemented a ‘waste deposit’ system to encourage every attendee to manage their waste responsibly. When purchasing your festival pass, you’ll also pay for a waste deposit. This will be refunded at the end of the festival once you return your properly sorted waste to the collection points. Sorting will be done in three streams: paper/cardboard/metal/plastic, glass, and general household waste. This system aims to minimize the environmental impact of the event and encourage effective recycling. Together, let’s make this festival a clean and nature-friendly space!
Water
Wasting water is strictly prohibited. It’s vital to consider current ecological challenges and act responsibly, especially during the summer. Keep showers short and cool, and we strongly encourage using environmentally friendly products.
Fire
It is forbidden to start a fire on the site due to the increased risk of fire. If you see someone attempting to start a fire, do not hesitate to warn them. Be very careful with cigarette butts; put them in your portable ashtray. Also, locate the nearest fire extinguisher in case of an emergency. We have also placed large water barrels around the site, specifically near the camping trees and the stage. They should be used first in case of a fire.
Glasses
Bringing glass onto the site is strictly prohibited. Accidents can happen so quickly. For your water, choose reusable materials that aren’t made of glass. In case of breakage, you could injure someone walking or dancing barefoot.
Composts toilets
We have always used compost toilets at the festival, offering an ecological and sustainable solution for managing human waste. Through a natural composting process, these toilets transform waste into organic material that can later be used as fertilizer, helping to enrich the soil. This alternative respects the environment and reduces the festival’s ecological footprint.
flecheCommitments & Actions
The festival's team is doing everything they can to minimize the environmental impact of this event. There is a genuine desire to protect the wildlife and vegetation of this beautiful location.
We are merely passing through, and we want the space to continue thriving without being disrupted by our presence. Therefore, we are committed to minimizing waste, adhering to a strict recycling policy, and leaving nothing behind when we leave.
Bye-bye Plastic
We've replaced plastic bottles with kegs (sparkling water, ginger beer, lemonade), saving over 1000 bottles per edition. We don't sell bottled water at the bar but provide free drinking water on-site. So, bring your reusable water bottle—and don't forget to take it back with you! In terms of food service, we've also eliminated all single-use tableware, replacing it with real dishes.
